We popped into Firecakes, a small batch doughnut shop in River North, to see what kind of scrumptious sweets they bake up.

Of the dozen artisanal flavors Firecakes offers, featured donuts include a rhubarb fritter; a vanilla-iced donut with white chocolate pearls; and an ice cream donut sandwich with a hot fudge sauce.

In addition to their baked goods, Firecakes also offers a variety of coffee beverages featuring La Colombe Roasters.
